Playstation Network update/Overview

Hey

Now, I know boxnoodle is supposed to be closed at this time, but this is important.

As many people may know, sony was mysteriously shut down on the 24th of April, and ever since people have not been able to use the Playstation network service. Sony, 8 days after it went down, confirmed that it was hackers, but it is unknown whether or not it was hacking group anonymous who has previously attacked Sony’s PSN service before. Sony have already told millions of gamers to cancel their credit cards after this, and some people have been demanding compensation. Sony have decided to give a ‘Welcome Back’ package to all Playstation Network customers. This package includes:

*Each territory will be offering selected PlayStation entertainment content for free download. Specific details of this content will be announced in each region soon.

*All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service. Current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service.

*Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity subscribers (in countries where the service is available) will receive 30 days free service.

As you don’t have to pay for Playstation network, you won’t receive any money compensation. Sony claim PSN and Qriocity will be back up and running in the next week, which is when you will receive the package.

Sony have announced that they have made the following security precautions:

*Added automated software monitoring and configuration management to help defend against new attacks

*Enhanced levels of data protection and encryption

*Enhanced ability to detect software intrusions within the network, unauthorized access and unusual activity patterns

*Implementation of additional firewalls

Thanks for reading, good luck with PSN. If you, for some reason do not receive the compensation, be sure to contact Sony straight away.
